The United States must continue to provide aid to other nations who deserve it. However, such aid programs must be subject to stricter scrutiny by the government to prevent fraud and abuse.
USHA asks for an annual economic and military aid package to India that is commensurate with the improvement in bilateral ties. We believe that such economic aid and military assistance to India will help build a strong foundation for better relations between the two countries. We are strongly against faith based initiatives because aid to other countries is being channeled through religious organizations engaged in prosylitization, especially in Hindu/Buddhist nations around the world. This policy will significantly undermine American credibility and power throughout the world. The US cannot advocate secularism at home and theocracy abroad without eliciting global anger.
